Space

Tucked away in South Knoxville just south of Fort Dickerson Park, the Knox Makers space is accessible from both Martin Mill Pike and Childress Street. We occupy the basement level of 116 Childress.

Members have 24/7 access to the space. Visitors must attend with a member who has keyed access, visit us at one of our Tuesday open houses, or schedule another time to visit.

On every Tuesday night at 7:00pm, we host a “show and share” event at which members and guests share brief presentations about projects they’ve been working on. Then we open up the shop and folks socialize or work in the shop. Folks are usually around by 6:30pm, and we offer tours before and after the show and share event. Come join us on any Tuesday evening!

Our space occupies about 10,000 square feet plus a separate blacksmithing building. The space includes a number of zones for different activities, such as fiber arts, metalworking, laser cutting, and others. It is possible to enter the space using a wheelchair, but all of our equipment is not accessible.
