Donate

There are a lot of ways to donate to Knox Makers, and we’re grateful for every donation. We’ll cover some common donation scenarios below.

Equipment/Goods

We have been the beneficiary of many donations of equipment and other goods. Some of our fanciest tools have been donated or loaned to us on a long-term basis. We appreciate offers of equipment and makery goods.

But we can’t accept everything we’re offered. Sometimes, we already have an item (or several of an item) and don’t have room for another. Sometimes an item simply isn’t something we have the capacity to store, maintain, and offer classes for. And occasionally, well-meaning people drop things off that we have no use for.

If we decline a donation, we nevertheless appreciate the offer. It’s best to reach out via our contact form or by visiting and talking to a member before dropping donations by unsolicited.

Time

Time is very valuable! We have no shortage of volunteer opportunities and love when people raise a hand to tackle one.

Money

You can donate money to us in just about any form you would like to. We take checks by mail or hand-delivered. You can make a donation through our web store. We accept PayPal. If you’d like to donate on a recurring basis, we can even set up automatic debits from your bank account. We are a 501(c)3 organization, so donations are tax deductible.

Building Fund

In 2025, we are raising money specifically to support the purchase of a building that we hope will serve as our permanent home. We need to raise significant amounts of money in order to make this happen. If you’d like to support our long-term future in Knoxville, we would love to accept donations ear-marked for the building fund specifically. We’d also love to have you spread the word to others who might be game to help us realize this dream.
